The essential how to's:
- Brush out extensions with ISLA brush BEFORE washing, this helps to prevent tangles and matting in wet hair.
- Follow your DKW Artists product recommendations. (Below is a list of our recommended products, unless your DKW Artist recommends an alternative for you.)
- Shampoo gently between rows, no need for vigorous scrubbing.
- Apply a detangler and oil prior to brushing through wet hair after washing.
- When brushing, start from your ends and work your way up to the scalp. Hold hair in one hand (like a ponytail) and brush down.

- Section your natural hair from your extensions, pin your natural hair up, and dry extensions FIRST, this will prevent over-drying your natural hair.
- Rough dry your extensions 80% of the way just using your dryer and hands. (no tugging on super damp hair with a brush) This applies to DRY BARS as well. If you love a weekly blowout, be sure to communicate to the artist styling your hair to NOT round brush extensions from wet to dry.
- When curling, run your section of hair through the curling iron to smooth once or twice before placing curls. This will give your extensions a more polished look.

- Be sure to apply oil to mid-lengths and ends of extensions.
- Brush nightly before going to sleep.
- Sleep in a loose ponytail.
- Sleep in braids, this prolongs the life of curls.
- You may also sleep with your hair loose.
- A silk pillow case will lead to smoother, more hydrated hair

- If you notice excess tangling or hair shed, please contact us as this can be a quick fix when addressed right away.
- You can live a normal, active lifestyle with NBR®, high pony's (wait 1 week after installation), braids, all styles welcome.
- Blondes especially: use mineral-based sunscreen, and keep off of extensions, it can turn the hair pink!
- You can swim with NBR® just be sure to add oil and brush once out of the water (never put wet hair into a messy bun and allow it to dry, it will mat!)
